How do I apply for a volunteer placement?
GIVE INTERNATIONAL is committed to make the registration process for our volunteer programs as easy and stream-lined as possible for you. Through our extensive experience in this area, we have set up a simple seven-step process that will allow you to concentrate your time on your volunteer placement, without getting frustrated by ‘running around in circles’ trying to figure out what you need to travel.

Read through the our website carefully, and then contact the GIVE INTERNATIONAL office (by email or telephone) for a brief interview, and to determine if the program and dates you hope to volunteer on are still available.

Download the attached VOLUNTEER APPLICATION FORM, PARTICIPATION AGREEMENT FORM (LIABILITY WAIVER), and the EMERGENCY CONTACTS FORM from the website. Complete all three forms, and mail them to the GIVE INTERNATIONAL office along with an initial donation of $600 to offset the costs of the application process.

Once we have received the (A) Application Form, (B) Participation Agreement Form, and (C) Emergency Contacts Form, (D) Initial Donation, we will mail you a volunteer package confirming your acceptance into the program. This volunteer package will include a Country Travel Guide, a detailed description of the culture and living conditions, and important pre-departure information on inoculations, passports, travel visas, health and safety issues, and money matters.

Make your travel arrangements (airfare and medical/travel insurance) through our highly recommended travel partner.

Check to make sure that your passport is valid at least 6 months longer than your trip return date.
Confirm that you have your Health Canada Immunization Booklet.
Make an appointment with your local health centre to get any Inoculations that you still need.

Forward all funds raised to the GIVE INTERNATIONAL office at least 45 days prior to your departure.

30 days before your departure, you will receive a final confirmation package from our office. This will include a GIVE INTERNATIONAL EMERGENCY CONTACT INFORMATION CARD for your future reference, as well as an additional card that you can leave with your family. You will also be given the contact information for the GIVE representative picking you up at the airport.
